Our journey is only beginning!

After a 15 hour flight that wasn't nearly as agonizing as we had first anticipated, we've made it to Hong Kong! Our journey wasn't easy the whole way, however. The day before we left, Jessica got stuck in Nashville and couldn't make it home to fly with us. Luckily God was looking out for us and she was able to fly directly to Chicago to meet up with us for our trip across the pond!

Meeting us at the airport was Brianna, one of the guides who will be with us for the trip. She's from Nebraska as well and this is her fourth year coming to Hong Kong, assisting groups with their VBS programs. Also at the airport were our local guides, Dick and Jason, who are both teachers at the school where we'll be staying. They've done a great job already filling us in on the plans, the city, the culture, and even a few basic Cantonese phrases!

We've also settled into our living quarters here at St. Matthews. It's very basic, with air mattresses and a few bathrooms, but we love it!

It's off to bed for us to get adjusted to the new time zone. More from us tomorrow!
