Preparation and much more!

Today, like all other days in this spectacular place, was a whole new adventure. We spent the morning and well into the afternoon preparing for Vacation Bible School, beginning with a dress rehearsal in our medieval style wardrobe. We utilized the living quarters as a temporary stage and began frolicking around and choreographing the VBS music, it was all fun and games until one of the janitors stopped by. The woman looked very taken back to see all these americans dressed funny and skipping around; language barriers prevented us from the ability to explain the method behind our madness, and the woman left the scene looking awfully confused. Later, we went down to scope out the rooms that the school had provided for us for VBS, and our hosts, as they have time and time again, completely blew us away. They had prepared a room full of shiny knew supplies for each of our activities. Jessica and I were especially pleased with the set up of our room, it had everything a respectable drama production room could ever need, not to mention it went along with each Bible story perfectly. The team then split into groups to rehears and prepare for tomorrows activities. We continued to prepare until later in the afternoon when we then came to our rooms for a refreshing power nap before going out to "Hot pot" with our guides Dick Jason and Amy. 'Hot pot' involves, yes you guessed it, a very hot pot filled with boiling water into which you dump veggies and noodles and meet and let cook. The experience was just as tasty as it was exciting, our guides encouraged us to eat as quickly as possible in order to consume as much food from the buffet as we could before our two hour time limit was up. Safe to say we were all stuffed by the end of the first hour, but we pushed on! Dick Jason and Amy were all very surprised to see how seriously we take the phrase "all you can eat ice cream". Between Jinmei, Brianna, Tyler, and I there were at least 14 servings gobbled right up. After diner we walked down to the sea side where there was a local peer and, to our amusement, colorful lights coming from the ground and illuminating mist which they occasionally sprayed out. The lights along with the music being played in all different languages created a scene that was perfect for a session of post-dinner tai chi. after that we filled into taxis and headed back to the school for a wonderful devotion and a goodnights rest for the big day a head of us tomorrow!  (please keep in your prayers our amazing generous guides that we have been so blessed to have here and also the weather, there is a chance there could be a typhoon coming soon and it would be great if it did not come sunday morning so that we can get on our flight as planned). Can't wait to tell you all about how VBS goes tomorrow, the whole team is very excited to get started!
