Out with a bang!

Hi everyone! My name is Briana Hoss and I have had the pleasure of working with the Zion West team here in Hong Kong this week. Let me be the first to tell you they are really working hard here and have such big hearts for God. It truly has been a great time and opportunity to be apart of their team. We have shared the love of God with many kids, as well as many laughs exchanged through the team and wonderful guides we have had the privilege of meeting.

Today was the final day of VBS here at Saint Matthews and what a joy it has been to see the kids singing and dancing and learning about the love of God. We started the morning off with a lack of energy but right as the students entered through the doors to the hall, everyone was immediately rejuvenated and found the extra drive to make the last day for the kids something to remember and one for us as well. The kids have really learned the songs we taught them and the dance moves as well. In each station today the students had a small booklet and had each of us sign it and give them our email address. We have already received a few emails and Facebook invites from the kids! It was an indescribable experience to have all the children wanting to keep in contact with us when we left. It meant so much and I think we all can say that they have definitely had an impact on us as well!

In the afternoon we had the little kids again. Today we played a new game with the parachute and that was such a hit! The kids really loved that game. Also today in crafts we decorated crowns and crosses and the kids really seemed to know their colors and shapes. We sang songs with them and one girl in crafts was actually singing along with the music!

This trip really has been special and one to remember. This evening we went to the Hong Kong island and walked around and did a little shopping with Dick and Light, who both bring a lot of laughter and fun to the group. After that we took the Star Ferry ride across the harbor and watched the light show and enjoy the beautiful view. The buildings are all lit and change colors and some lasers shine from the tops into the dark sky! The show was about 15 minutes and then we finally headed to dinner. Again, lots of laughter at the tables. We have been told many times "no shouting" and that we are "scaring the locals".

It truly has been a blessing being on this trip and I'm sad that this week is going to come to an end in just a few more days. God really has blessed us here and has sent wonderful people to do his work!
